Is there an adapter I can use to plug a microphone into my camcorder?
I have a Panasonic, and it does not have a microphone jack. The only plug accessible when the battery is in (it covers the computer connecting plugs, etc) is an A/V. Is there any way I can plug a mic in via that input?

If there is no mic jack, it is likely there is no way to connect a mic. Without the model number, there is no way for us to know for sure.
An alternative is to record the audio with a field recorder - like those made by M-Audio, Aoom, Edirol, Tascam, Sony and others. When you edit the video, import the audio captured by the field recorder, then mute the audio that was captured with the video.
Or... you can replace the camcorder with one that has a mic jack. The Canon ZR900 and ZR930 have a mic jack - but no manual audio control. You can check the Canon FS and HF series - they have mic jacks - I don't think they have manual audio control, either.
Manual audio control is required if the audio being recorded by the camcorder is either REALLY loud or REALLY soft.
The least expensive current camcorders - of which I am aware - that have a mic jack and manual audio control are the Canon HV30 and Sony HDR-HC9.
