How do i hook up a ion profile pro usb turntable to some speakers or an amp?
okay, so i got this thing on Christmas, but never had time to set it up until now, i have absolutely no idea on how to hook it up to speakers or what those yellow and red chords are supposed to hook up to, someone please tell me how i do this?
To use the usb cord you need a computer or laptop. Just connect the usb cord from the turntable to your computer/laptop's usb input.
To use the chords, if they are RCA chords (looks like the wires and plugs that connect to the back of a dvd player) you either need a mixer, an amp, or a stereo receiver with an available input.
Just connect the wires from the back of the turntable to the the input on the back of the mixer/amp/stereo.
--If on the back of the mixer/amp/stereo there is an input available marked PHONO, use those as they are usually slightly amplified to help boost the sound of the record player.
--If not, just connect it to the available input.
--Remember of the two RCA plugs, the RED is RIGHT... so on the back of your amp/mixer/or home stereo... plug the Red plug into the Right channel and the other into the Left channel. Or the holes marked "R" and "L"
--Select your device i.e. amp/mixer/stereo to the correct input like PHONO or input 1 or which ever input its plugged into, and you're done.
--Also for turntables its recommended to turn it on first, then the mixer/amp/stereo. It will also help avoid any electrical pops which can harm your speakers.
