My auto. '90 Ford Ranger has a few second delay when I shift into reverse and when it actually shifts. Why?
As I mentioned, it's an automatic tranny, and it takes a few to several seconds for the tranny to actually go into reverse. It's worse when I start using it, as opposed after it's been driven for sometime. Is it the reverse band slipping?
It's trying to tell you that it's old, tired, and in need of maintenance. I know the feeling. Get that way my self, especially early in the morning. lol
