how do I fix the squeaking on my belt drive garage door opener?
I have a chamberlain whisper belt drive garage door opener. It is only 2 years old. We just bought a brand new garage door. The belt on our opener is very squeaky. My brother in law has the same opener and garage door and it is very quiet. You can barely hear the motor when it opens. Do you know how to fix it as we have our baby room right above our garage. Thank you!
I doubt it is coming from the belt. That is a cogged belt so it can't slip. It is more likely coming from the wheels dragging on an improperly aligned track. Try to determine where it is rubbing on the track and adjust it to avoid this. If you used the old track, your new door may be a tad wider, causing it to rub. Adjusting the track a little wider will probably solve your problem.
