Want to use bookshelf speakers with truck?
Not wanting to spend money on speakers, I tried hooking up my bookshelf speakers to an amp I had, in my truck. Upon turning the radio on, I had no sound through the speakers.
The amp does work, and it all is wired correctly. Anybody have any idea what it could be?
All is NOT wired correctly because you should be getting some sound. Most car speakers are 4ohm. so the bookshelf speakers should also present a 4ohm load for the amp to be happy. Too much resistance as well as too low will damage your amplifier. Typical home speakers are usually 8ohm but there are some that are 4ohm and even a few 6ohm. Either way, you should be getting some sound if all is wired correctly. Double check all your connections and fuses. Good luck
