ceiling speaker recommendation?
i need to install ceiling speakers in my house and, given the broad selection have no idea where to start in terms of decent quality, $50-$100/each ceiling speakers...what's best? boston acoustic? bose? JBL? i have no idea where to start!

I've installed a lot to ceiling speakers and to answer this question i would need to know
1 how much power is driving them?
2 how loud do you want it to play, eg back ground or party?
3 What kind of sound quality are you looking for?
so I can answer this Avoid Bose at all costs!
If you just want low level back ground music Mid level JBL's in the $60 to $100 range will be fine
If you want to rock the house and have enough power to drive them than look for a higher efficiency rating like 91db at 1w at 1meter. You should look in the $100+ range leaning from JBL toward Boston Acoustic.
IF you want good sound (as good as you can get from the ceiling) and have a good power source (amp) go for the higher end Boston Acoustic nearing the $200+ range. Also go for a bigger woofer in the 6 1/2"range or bigger.
There are other brands like Dayton, MTX, On-Q, leviton, Polk, infinity, niles, etc
I have heard these and they sound very good for ceiling speakers driven by and Onkyo receiver.
