what kind of cable connector do i use for hard drive?

Looks like the GX7422 is a laptop(Actually Gateway calls it 7422GX), you shouldn't require any cables. If you have the manual it will show you where the drive is located, usually its one screw or tab on the side or bottom.
laptop drives are usually 2.5"
If you goto gateway.com support and look for 7422GX you will see where the drive is located:
