How to get new car home?
I'm looking into buying a car which is for sale just a few miles from my home, but i am unsure how to get it back to my house as i have only got a provisional licence and have no insurance as this would be my first car. Can anyone tell me what i need to do? I know i need insurance, but can i drive the car home from buying it or should i find another driver that could come with me to bring it home for me?
Maybe i should have mentioned i live in the UK since all you yanks are talking about state laws 
You must have insurance, it is always illegal to drive without it on a public road. Likewise as a provisional license holder it is illegal to drive whilst unaccompanied by a qualified driver on a public road. You will have to arrange insurance first, easily done immediately by phone or on the net. If you know someone with fully comprehensive insurance their insurance would normally allow them to drive some one elses car with their consent and give third party insurance.
