How to repair car visor?
I use my visor a lot because my baby's usually in the back seat and I live in the sunshine state but the post where the visor swivels falls out of the car 'ceiling' at random moments. If it's in front of me and the clip is secure, it's fine but if the visor is to my left (along side the door) the whole thing falls to my lap. Slightly distracting and problematic while driving! I thought about just putting some superglue on the tip of the post and shoving it back in the hole, but I'm afraid it won't swivel then. Any suggestions? Thanks!
OK, I have had this happen before. Mine was on a 97 Pontiac trans am, but the visors on most cars are constructed the same. If yours happened the same way mine did then the housing (part with the 3 screws) is staying in place and the shaft that the visor is on is falling out. This is usually caused by the washer on top of the assembly giving out. If you take it apart and find that to be the case just replace the washer(usaually like 15 to 20 cent) I just drilled a hole through a nickel, but i'm on a tight budget. Otherwise you may have to replace the hole visor, which is bad because you have to find one that matches your interior.
