anyone with knowledge on maxell video cassette tapes?
my step mom has maxell cam corder video cassettes. the vhs that opens up to put the smaller tapes in so you can watch them on t.v. is broken and i dont believe they sell them anymore. is there a way to convert those tapes to dvd? or maybe even know a place that still sells the vhs that hte small cam corder tapes fit in?
the tape converter broke. do they still sell them anywhere? i cant find anywhere

as for converting them, there are two ways one do it yourself, you will need the tape converter, to go in your player, and a conversion device, something like one of these

you need to play the tape in your VHS player and use the device above to plug that into your computer. its not that expensive to do probably less than $30. but its done in real time so if you have 6 hours of tapes then that is how long its going to take. The result will be ok but not fantastic, and after you get the video onto your computer you will need to edit it and then using software to burn the video to a DVD
The second way easy is to find a company that will do all the work for you, and put the video onto DVD/s normally they charge around $10 per tape if yo have loads of them you should able to get a discount.
