How do I fix my Sony 300 Disc CD Changer ?

The model number is CDP-CX355 and it is approx. three years old. The arm that loads the cd in to position misfeeds the cd and will not locate it properly. It trys loading a couple of times and then kicks the cd off the table. I have already tried unpluging it but it does not correct the problem.

My first question to you is did you drop it? Second question is do you have a little one who puts their fingers in everything? Luckily for you this seems to be a mechanical problem with the CD loader arm. With the power off- Open the CD door manually and take out all the Cd's.Go get a flashlight and shine that sucker into the CD bay and check the loading arm. Is there something caught in it? A hair, dust, lint, a broken CD, even some stray packing material could of made its way back there enough to interfere with loading arm. Again maybe the little one might of thrown a penny in there or something.If you find something take it out. Check to see if maybe something is caught in the carousel too. Load 1 CD in and turn the power on. The bay door should close the light flashes and then it goes to the carousel goes to the CD. Right? Okay now reload all the Cd's back in. Pain in the neck i know especially if you labeled all your Cd's. Try it now. If that didn't fix it -Sorry bro that did it for me. You may have a broken slot in the carousel and have to get it replaced or some other issue altogether. If that's the case you might have to get it serviced. At the least you can now tell them whats wrong with it. Good luck.
