Can you connect Your Ethernet PS3 with a cable cord to your computer using wireless connection?

I have a 20 gigabyte PS3 and it has no wireless just ethernet.I tried plugging the double-sided ethernet cord in.My Q is Can I get connection by plugging my non wireless PS3 to my wireless laptop.? I want to know, so I don't waste 6 hours of my time of this.

Sounds kinda clunky. Try setting up Internet Connection Sharing on the laptop. Search for it in Google for setup instructions.
