What cord/plug goes into an "Audio In" spot on my monitor?

I have an Acer H233H 23" Monitor and there is a spot for "audio in" on the back of it. Can i plug headphones into that or is that only for speakers?

You cannot plug headphones nor speakers into that jack.

That Audio-in jack is for connecting to your computer's sound card Audio-Out, to get sound from your computer to come out of the monitor's built-in speakers.
