Why should we change to digital TV and radio when we know digital uses more power than analogue systems?
Its seems crazy to be encouraged to use more power hungry gadgets when we are being told to save energy.
Most programming is now compressed which is how you are able to get so many channels of communication from a single satellite. If the signal compression, which requires digital formatting, is not used, you would not be getting the diversity of programming most enjoy.
Most televisions have been digital for a very long time. I am unfamiliar with the information about digital requiring more energy than analog. Can you provide a source for your information? I'd like to know more.
