Tuning a digital set top box?

For some reason I lost all my TV channels on Thursday night. I have tried re-tuning but nothing comes up. I have an AWA stb 237 digital set top box but no instruction manual to tune it in to see if I can get channels back. I want to tune it into my tv and dvd/vcr combo so I can tape. Can anyone help with tuning it in and connecting all three?

I have never worked with an AWA box, but here in canada A set top box is a set top box, With all the equipment Rogers cable provides, it can be retuned by rebooting, (Unplug, count to 15 plug back in). If your channel line up is based on your cable provider and they are the ones who stopped the programming, you will need to call them and have them re-tune the box.

As far as hooking up other components, it is important that your cable line feed directly into your STB first. If you run it through anything else and then to the STB, you degrade the signal and this can cause the loss of channels, Pixelizing etc

.I would say your best bet is to install a quality 1ghz or higher 2way splitter and run one line to the STB and a second line to the VCR/DVD and then run the output of each box to the individual outputs on the tv (Coax in for vcr, Component in for the STB)
