How do I stop auto double spacing in Open Office writer?
Downloaded newest open office for my new computer but now in writer a regular return/enter gives me a double space. If I hold down the shift key and hit return/enter I get a single space. I HAVE TRIED... changing spacing to single via format-paragraph- line spacing and changing to single via the line spacing toolbar button. All they do is change highlighted stuff but not new stuff. I'm sure this is something simple but I can't figure it out.
If you want to change the spacing in a new document, then change it immediately when you open the new document. This will change the paragraph spacing for all paragraphs in the entire document you create.
Individual paragraphs can be changed separately as you already do by selecting them.
If you go to the end of document and change the line spacing, then all new paragraphs from that point on will be spaced accordingly until you change it again.
If you want to change the default new document to have different line spacing, then you will need to create a template.
