How do you drive an automatic transmission car?

Both of my cars have been manual 5 or 6 speeds. Jeep Liberty Sport and an Acura RSX. But im at college now and have to share a car with my roomate who has an automatic Ford Explorer. It has no clutch and no shifter and I just don't know how to drive it but I don't want to tell him and look like an idiot. Someone please help!!!
