What does "you're preaching to the choir" mean?
I was saying my opinion on something (a band)...
and someone said "you're preaching to the choir" leaving me confused....she then said she liked one of their songs but then started making sun of the leadsinger so I'm confused....whats it mean??
"preaching to the choir" means trying to make a point to someone who already agrees with your position. The analogy meaning that those in the choir are already familiar with the preaching... it's the others that likely need it.
