Headphones for an old marantz stereo?
I own a Marantz 2238B stereo, a marantz turntable model tt4000, and two advent speakers and I love the set-up, everything works great. I was just wondering what kind of headphones fit the stereo? My regular headphones that have the newest jack (which fits iPods etc.) don't fit, but I'd love to be able to listen to my records as loud as I want without waking up my roommates. Anyway, what I want to know is what kind of headphones my stereo might fit, or how to find that information, and if you have any suggestions of nice headphones from that era.

You can use any modern headphones with a 1/4" stereo plug to 1/8" (3.5mm) stereo jack adapter...

If you want a real nice sounding pair of sealed design headphones that won't wake your roommates... It's impossible to beat the classic Sony MDR-V6 on a reasonable budget. As an added bonus, they're also built better and will last longer than many pricier headphones without having cord problems, etc... These also come with the smaller 1/8" plug nowadays, but a nice, screw-on adapter is included to fit the 1/4" jack on your Marantz. They also come with a genuine imitation leather bag to keep them in.
