What is the difference between a multi-media player and an external hardrive?
I have an external hardrive that I can plug directly into the LCD TV via usb and watch movies, music or photo's from that. Would getting a MMplayer be worthwhile for watching HD movies or would the quality difference not justify the additional cost?
Basically your TV is doing the deciphering when you use the hard drive. The resolution is recorded in the movie so this is identical. I would imagine the TV designer knows the resolution of the TV so they can put in a precise hardware to do the job. A MMplayer has to deal with many different TVs so they tends to go with the lowest common denominator.
No forget about the MM player IMO.
