how do i use the head phones on the Naxa Portable 1.5 Inch MP4 Media?

i recently noticed that the music on my mp3 plays out of the back instead of out of the headphones how do i fix this?
when i pluged in the head phones they did not work instead the music played out of the mic part how do i fix this?
