On Windows Movie Maker, how do you switch the audio but not completely mute the original audio?
I've seen some videos on Youtube that have music/different audio added to them but in the background you can still hear the original audio! How do they do that and can you do it with Windows Movie Maker?
Graeson is telling you how to overlap on audio on the Audio/Music track of WMM (windows movie maker). Doing that only creates a shortened fade-in effect... or dual-audio garble (if overlapping too much)
But, I don't think that is exactly what you are asking about.The way I understand the question, you wish to lower the volume of the video (so that it can still be heard in the background) while playing another audio file at the same time.
If this is correct, here's how you do it:
>In the time-line view of WMM
>Click on the + button beside the word Video
>Right-click on the Audio track and select Volume option from the drop-down menu
>Reduce the volume of the video to the desired level
This will ensure any audio added to the Audio/Music track of the project will be heard over the video's audio. Be careful if you are including media that is copyrighted, as YouTube will not allow you to upload such material and will prompt you to "swap out" your audio. If you choose not to swap it out, your video will not be uploaded.
