AUDIOPHILIACS HELP HELP HELP PLEASE RECOMMEND?
I have a pc music system of Logitech Z-2300, and i was wondering when i get some money should i build up a music system consisting of some nice bookshelf speakers and a amplifier.Please recommend a pair of nice sub $1000 bookshelf speakers.
First its important that the source material and playback system be of highest quality to get good sound. If your listening to CD's then great but if your burning music then hopefully your not burning at MP3 bit rate as this is very poor quality to be played back on a good system. Most people don't realize that there is that big a difference and that they can burn music at much higher bit rates. In itunes under edit and preferences under the general tab you can select different sample rates in which to import your music. Use the highest setting that you feel comfortable using as this will use allot more hard drive space. I always burn at full res 16 bit 44.1khz which is cd quality. This is important to get best possible sound quality. There are other options in the import settings that will get you "somewhat" close to cd quality but will use much less hard drive space if that is of concern.
As for music systems this gets very subjective and generally I try and find out how my clients like to hear music and design a system to their listening tastes. If you want to get a highly refined system I would certainly be happy to talk with you in further detail to help design a system that's right for your budget and setup.
The Amplifier and speakers are both very important so buying expensive speakers and cheap Amplifier is not a good choice. Give the Amplifier even more importance as your speakers are only as good as the source and equipment that is driving them. I would suggest a good integrated Amplifier from a hi-end manufacture or the other option probably being on a budget is a good pair of powered speakers.
I always suggest going to your local independent hi-end audio store and work with them as they are much more knowledgeable and have much better equipment to choose from.
These might be at the top of your budget but the manufacture Quad from England has a great sounding pair of bookshelf speakers both powered and unpowered versions that sound great and are highly regarded in the high end community.
