installing a second dvd writer-player in my tower ?

hi im dave , can i install a second dvd writer-player under my first one , i have an empty space for it , if so what leads do i need , to connect , can i buy a ide to sata lead for it ? , connect power from the power supply ? , it is a second hand one ive received , if i get it up and running what extra functions could i do with it ? , thanks very much , dave

1.) Yes.
2.) Depends on the drive and your motherboard.
3.) There should be a spare IDE or SATA port on your motherboard, unless you already have a lot of extra drives installed. It sounds like you do not. The ports each have a unique shape, so it's not difficult to match them up.
4.) Unless your power supply is completely obsolete, it should have the necessary cables to power a second drive. Just look for the cable that matches the shape of the power port on the drive.
5.) You could...burn or play two DVDs at once? It's really not necessary to have a second DVD burner unless the first one you have doesn't read or write CDs or you mass-produce burned DVDs.
