Whats the best Touch screen pocket size chess game around?
Was looking to buy a pocket touch Electronic screen chess game and wonering if anyone could tell me what the best one to buy.
I used to play chess quite regular at a club but never at any great level so i am looking for something that has a really beginner level to hard with lots in between.
I also heard that some of the screens were difficult to see the pices
Buy the Palm Z22 at Best Buy for around $99. Then Go to Palmgear.com and buy any of their chess programs such as Chess Tiger, Pocket Chess, or go to the Hiarcs.com site and buy their very powerful program.
I have researched all the touch screen chess options and this is your best bet! This way, the display is customizable. You can choose everything from the size of the board, the colors of the squares and pieces and even the styles of the pieces in some cases. You can test chess programs before you buy them which is great! (All of Palmgear's chess programs offer a free trial so you can try before you buy.) The Palm Z22 is different from their other models in that if you happen to allow the rechargable battery to run out, your software is still retained in the unit so you don't have to reload it from your computer. It is a backlit display and is perfect for playing chess.
If you find any of these chess programs too difficult to beat, you can handicap the unit by using the "set up board" option and have the computer start off without the queen, rook(s), bishop(s) or any pieces you choose. Then when you beat it this way, you can then start giving back it's pieces as you improve.
