Can someone from the royal british legion answer my question.?
My father who is in his 70s an ex-serviceman and who has supported his RBL for over 40 years received a letter which was from the RBL, but had been sent through the postal system of one of Her Majestys prison. The letter arrived with a prison franking stamp. My father was unaware that the letter contained a RBL letter, and was absolutely sick when this envelope arrived. Even my mum felt sick, they are not used to receiving mail with prison stamps on! My father complained to the legion who said that the secretary who works at the prison posted it through the prison mailing system. Because he has complained, they have now expelled him for life from the Legion. Is this any way to treat ex servicemen who have loyall supported the Legion most of their life.
your father should phone Free Veterans Helpline 0800 169 2277. and see what they have to say about this shoddy and unfair treatment of your father, or he could phone the chairman of his local club and ask for a meeting to discuss this unreasonable behaviour
