What does one need to know to be "proficient in wav files" for a transcription job?
I know they have to do with audio files, and I'm thinking I might just need to know how to download them so that I can transcribe from the audio. But, maybe there's more to know?? Any thoughts about this would be appreciated! 
I think all you are going to need to know is, as you say, how to download and play them. A transcription job is going to either send you .wav files by e-mail or have you download them from a secure website. They just want to make sure you know how to save them to your hard drive, open them in Windows Media Player or something like that, play, pause, stop, back up, etc.
