Why do people call soldiers protectors when they are really just America's corporate muscle?
Soldiers in today's army are badly-paid mercenaries. I hate to tell you people the truth, but I'm right. I would say maybe in the Civil War, War of 1812 and the Revolutionary War, soldiers were protectors because their country and their homes were in danger. But in World War I, II, Vietnam, Korea and Iraq, let's be honest, they are just Congress's badly-paid muscle. If the United States need protectors, we would be fighting an enemy equal to us in stature with the threat of the war being carried to our shores, if not already there. There would be a draft, and soldiers would be more worried about their families and way of life than their paycheck.
I can't stand the military men and wives that buy the propaganda that they're heroes and protectors. That's really ignorant. You're helping some corporation get rich while your family has to worry what will happen if you die overseas. Fear is the real enemy in the war of terror.
I love how people with their head in the sand also believe they are experts in all. "Fear is the real enemy in the war on terror", oh really? So then terrorists didn't kill Jewish athletes at the '72 Olympics, or hijack planes and kill hostages all through the 70's and 80's, didn't blow up embassies, didn't bomb the USS Cole, didn't bomb the WTC in '93, didn't attack America on 9/11, didn't blow up a subway station in the U.K., didn't attempt to blow up planes over the Atlantic ocean, didn't attempt to attack and kill soldiers on Army bases, didn't attempt to set off multiple car bombs in the U.K., didn't derail a train in Madrid? Sorry bud, your ignorance is astonishing!
Our soldiers are not corporate lackies, they are fighting real people with real intentions on killing as many innocents as they can. It's not fear, terrorists are real. The sooner you understand that and stop throwing around drivel like this and ramble on about evil corporations with that inflated sense of self worth, the better.
