What is "digging in at backstops" when at an outdoor range?
Just curious, the rule appears in my club's rule book "no digging in at backstops when using any outdoor range at the club".
What does digging in mean?
Also, what is the Creedmore position?

The Creedmore shooting position is generally used by silhouette shooting competitors. This position is where you lay on your back, knees up, feet flat on the ground and you hold your firearm against the side of your leg for stability. It's quite solid for long range shooting.
The "No digging in at the backstops" rule as it applies to the range that I use refers to digging out spent lead from the backstop. It can errode the backstop and can make it potentially unsafe to use.
