What are the best DJ headphones for under $50?
I was looking at these:

but these seem nice as well, even though they are earbuds:

I just need good headphones for my DJ work. I am sick of using my bass-less headphones (Sony Psyc).
Based on my personal experience I would go with these headphones that are designed for DJ use, in this particular order according to best sound:
1. Technics RP-F550 $34.99
2. American Audio HP-500 $49.99
3. Gemini DJ DJX-05 $39.95
4. Behringer HPX-4000 $34.99
5. Stanton DJ PRO-60 $39.95
6. Behringer HPX-2000 $19.99
I find the HPX-2000 at $19.99, to be the best overall budget DJ headphones that still dish out pretty good bass and decently defined sound. However on my opinion, at the below $50 price range, the RP-F550, has the best sound. Technics also makes the best DJ turntables known to man.
Due to the rather extreme conditions that we DJ's must sometimes work in, like a hot and humid club, a constantly dark environment, things like sweat, frequent dropping, accidentally disconnecting and stepping on the headphones or headphone cord shortens the lifespan of even the most expensive DJ headphones. At $19.99 these HPX-2000s are a nice, affordable and easily replaced DJ staple for me.
Also, I advise against getting any headphones that have the word "studio" unless you will be using it in a recording studio capacity. Studio headphones are designed to give an unenhanced accurate sound reproduction of recordings for studio monitoring purposes. However Dj headphones are the complete opposite, and enhance the audio especially bass frequencies, so that any music you hear will sound like it's on steroids. So be forewarned that the Sony MDR-XD200 is a studio monitor headphone.
