how to connect an EQ to a sony strde898 receiver?

i bought a new sony receiver, and discovered i cannot connect my equalizer, because the receiver doesnt have a tape monitor, or pre-amp in or out, how can i connect it to this receeiver

Yes, the new receivers do not allow signal processors when using surround sound and in fact you would need a five channel EQ in order to EQ Dolby Digital or DTS. Like the previous answer states, you can put the EQ in line between your CD player and your receiver, but other than that, you're out of luck.
