How to remove sound bar pop up when changing the volume on a laptop?

I have a Hp Compaq 8510w and Xp. When I change the volume using the touch sensitive buttons on the laptop, a little sound bar pops up on the screen showing the change in volume, then it goes away. It interferes with my comp games if I change the volume so I want to turn it off. Does anyone know how to turn off this feature? Thanks.

Go to your control panel
1. Nenu properties
2. Go to Notification sres
3. Uncheck the volume box
4. Spply and close
5. See if it works!
