How do I connect a Toshiba dvd video player sd-5000 to a Sharper Image dvd player?
The shaper image player has surround sound but the dvd player doesn't work on it so we want to connect the 2 together. How do we do that?

Sorry but it wouldn't make sense to do that. You would have to hack into the electronics and at the price of DVD players (<$50) it isn't worthwhile.
Besides the Toshiba SD-5000 player is a superior player (HDMI, upconverting) with surround sound so why do you need the non- functional SI player at all?
