Speaker Laptop

Sound comes through earphones but NOT laptop speaker?

I have a Dell Latitude laptop and the sound just stopped coming out of the speaker, but it still comes out of the earphones. I've tried messing around in the control panel, but nothing helps. Any ideas?

click on the little speaker in the bottom right hand corner of screen then open sound mixer check to see if laptop speakers are checked if so uncheck
