Do you think a pair of speakon speaker can work on a mixer without using an amplifier?
i bought a pairs of speakon speaker PPH1293 and i dn't have an amplifier for but i do have a 16 channels mixer i wanted to know if the mixer only should be ok
so what if your speaker is unpowered what kind of amplifier do you need
If the speakers are normal unpowered speakers with no amp built in, you cannot connect them directly to a normal unpowered mixer with no amp built in. If your mixer is powered, you can connect unpowered speakers to it because a powered mixer has an amp built in.
Th bottom line is that you need an amp somewhere - some are separate units - some are built into the mixer - some are built into the speakers.
