For Multi-Room Music Systems.How is the amp hooked up for one speaker in each room.If the amp has a L & R SIDE?
Left side and right side. Would I just use one side? And there's a 6 ZONE SPEAKER SELECTOR hooked upped to the amp also...
Each zone should have an L and an R side. This is what is known as "stereo" sound. Each side emits an independent tone. When you listen to studio recorded bands, usually the only track in the sound that is centered evenly across the left and right channels is the vocals. All of the other Instruments and effects are usually panned slightly to one side or another. This is done to give the illusion of depth. If you connected both speakers to one side, you would lose half of the stereo signal and you music would sound terrible. Not only that, but connecting to speakers to one side can overload your amp and cause it to overheat.
So what I am trying to say is, it is not a good idea to use only one side. Connect speakers in pairs to the 6 zone selector.
When it comes to audio/visual components, taking shortcuts and not buying the right equipment to do the job necessary usually just ends up causing more headache than it's worth. It also has a tendency to cause you to spend more money when you have to replace components that are ruined because you might have connected them wrong. Read the manuals. If you don't have one, you can usually download them from the internet.
