Can I turn my old stereo speakers into speakers for my computer?
the speakers I have for my computer are on the fritz and I have an old stereo that I don't use anymore. The old speakers are pretty standard in the sense that the cord coming out has the two exposed tips that you insert into the back of the stereo to start jamming. Any way to hook them up to my computer?
You can't use the speakers alone.You have to amplify the sound coming from the sound card on your computer so,if you have a stereo with output (RCA) jacks on the rear of the Receiver you can connect the stereo to your computer using an adapter,with two RCA plugs at one end & a stereo mini plug at the other end.I went to a clearance sell at Walgreen's & bought a Kinyo 2.1 sound system which consists of a subwoofer (where the amplifier is) & 2 small speakers for $20.00.You can connect it to any thing with RCA input jacks or computer with the adapter included. Great sound.
