I just bought a PS3. I just need a little help setting up the system to my monitor and speakers...?

I just bought a PS3. I currently have a Creative 5.1 T6160 Speaker system,an LG W2253TQ-PF 21.5 inch monitor and those two things are currently connected to my PC. Now i just need some advice as to what cables ill need and an efficient way to maybe connect everything together so that i get the best quality results from my speakers and monitor =D

Cheap? Might not be so. *Since you're in AU, the links provided are only for reference. I don't live in AU so I don't know where you're gonna buy it from*.

Step 1: If your PC is connected to VGA then all you need is an HDMI to DVI cable. Skip to Step 2

Step 1a: If your PC is connected to DVI then you need an HDMI switch (alternative you could get a passive splitter but there's no guarantee it'll work): http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=101&cp_id=10110&cs_id=1011001&p_id=2786&seq=1&format=1#largeimage.

HDMI splitter: HDMI from PS3 into input 1; DVI to HDMI from PC into input 2; HDMI to DVI into monitor.

Step 2: Get a 3.5mm splitter* (http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10218&cs_id=1021802&p_id=669&seq=1&format=20*) and plug the green jack from the speakers into the female. One male will go to your PC, the other will go to your PS3 (in which case you would need the supplied RCA/yellow-white-red cable and buy an RCA to 3.5mm female converter)

Turn it on. If no video, hold PS3 button until second beep. Set sound to output via the RCA instead of HDMI.

*Because HDMI outputs digital sound and your speakers are analog only, there's no cheap way to get 5.1 out, only stereo. The only other way is if you can input 5.1 through your PC then throw it out through the speakers (in which case you'd only need an optical cable and ditch step 2 entirely) but you'd need a sound card which is probably another hundred USD. At this point you have a mess and it'd be preferable to just get speakers with optical in if you want 5.1
