How do I access the BIOS options in Windows XP pro on my computer ?
On start up I get the blue screen with a technical problem in which windows fails to load. It tells me to disable shadowing and caching in my BIOS options before continuing then freezes on this blue screen.What does it mean and how do I do this if I cant get into windows in the first place?
Shadowing is that the BIOS makes copy of itself. Caching refers to internal and external caches of CPU. These caches store also information. By disabling (deleting) shadowing and caches and restarting the pc Windows should be able to be downloaded in the RAM for a new start. If that does not help, if you feel comfortable with opening the pc, reset the CEMOS battery and jumper for a minuet. This put the BIOS to DEFULT settings with no hanging programs (BUGS) that causing problem.
You can get in the BIOS in using the hot key that correspond with the model of your PC. Mostly it is F1, F2, F12, F10, DEL, ESC, ENTER...Hit one of these keys immediately and repeatedly as your pc starts.
