How to cut out the surrounding of a video?
Hi guys, I want to cut out the surrounding of a video, like, lets say there was a bear in the background of a family video, how do I zoom into just the family? I need to zoom into a particular square on a video. Is there any software (i dont care if its free or you have to pay) that can do this? Thanks.
I have Windows Movie Maker 2.1 for XP on my business laptop: just checked, and there's no way to zoom (i.e., crop the video/image frame size). Although, I did find a tutorial that shows how to do so with VirtualDub, in conjunction with WMM: http://www.windowsmoviemakers.net/PapaJohn/71/Rotating_Cropping_Video.aspx
I edit videos for my company using Sony Vegas Pro 8.0, a higher level editor that, among many other features, allows you to manipulate the frame size. If you're just editing family videos, I doubt you want to cough up several hundred dollars for it, though.
A nice alternative for you could be Sony Vegas Movie Studio, an editor that offers many pro-level features--including cropping the frame size--at a far lower price (only $85). http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/moviestudiope
