I have a ken wood VR 505audio video surround reciever it wont power up?

wow, such a generic question. i can give you a few ideas as to why and things to try.

the first thing to do is see if you even have power at that outlet. If that's obviously there and working, then your problem goes a bit deeper. Check to make sure the cord doesn't have a small slice anywhere, you may not be able to obviously see it, but, it could be there.

the next thing i would do, is disconnect EVERYTHING from it. home theater recievers now a days have built in protection from shorting wires together. a lot of times, if you've got a bad componet plugged in, the unit refuses to turn on.

if you've done al that and it STILL won't turn on, then you've got an internal problem ranging from a blown fuse to blown transformer....and those fuses only ever blow if something MAJOR happens, like your transformer or some other vital componet bites the dust.
