If I don't use it much, how impractical would having a vintage(40s-50s)car really be?
I'd probably get power steering so turnin' corners ain't such a pain.
But I don't think I'd use the car all that often.
How much $ extra per week in gas do vintage car owners pay to be able to cruise around?
I just need average round about ballpark figures,...no need to get technical with the 'mileage per model'-speak.
Most old cars like that get maybe 10-15 mpg when cruising around. The 6 cylinder engine will break 20mpg on the highway, something with a bigger V8 engine will get 10-12 mpg around town and higher on the highway.
Honestly, stuff like insurance, repairs and parts will cost you far more than gas to drive around on weekends. Your typical tire joint does not stock tires for a 1940's car, and parts can be crazy expensive. Gas is pocket change by comparison.
