How do I reach a high wall above a staircase - to remove wallpaper?
I need to remove wallpaper on a wall next to a staircase. I know how to remove wallpaper. I just don't know how to get to the top of this wall since it is very high and it's over a staircase. Normally I'd use a ladder, but obviously I can't place a normal ladder on a staircase.
Do they make special ladders to use on a staircase? Are there other products or ways to get to a height above a staircase? How can this be done safely?
yes there are different types of ladders on the market for this type of work. you can contact your local rent all shop and see what they have. i use and extension ladder and you can buy adjustable legs that go on the botton of your ladder. they slide up and down and tighten with T bolts and wing nuts. i have used these for years and find them to be very safe. please do not use blocks of wood on the steps to level out the bottom of your ladder. if your steps are wood place the feet of the extension ladder on some none slip mats and to be extra safe have someone hold the ladder while someone is up on it. good luck and be safe.
