How many watts RMS is each subwoofer getting?
I have a mono amp rated at 850 watts RMS x1 channel at 2 ohms (500 watts RMS x1 channel at 4 ohms) if i hook up 2 Subwoofer how m any watts RMS will each subwoofer see?
If I hook up two 2 ohm Subwoofer one at each terminal at the amp will the amp see a 2 ohm load or a 4 ohm load
it has a duel terminal block where i'm going to hook up one subwoofer to each terminal
If it's a mono amp, and you connect two 2-ohm subwoofers, the amp will see a 1-ohm load. If you connect two 4-ohm subwoofers, the amp will see a 2-ohm load. This assumes that you're using single voice coil subs; if you use dual voice coil subs, the final impedance will be different, depending on the wiring scheme.
If you connect identical subs, then any power produced by the amplifier will be evenly divided between the two subs. If the amp is producing 500 watts, each sub gets 250 watts.
Edit: the two terminal blocks are internally connected in parallel. (I've never seen or heard of a mono car audio amplifier with multiple terminal blocks wired in series). That means if you connect one sub to each speaker terminal, the two subs will be wired to the amp in parallel. If they're 4-ohm subs, you'll get a 2-ohm load at the amp; if they're 2-ohm subs, the final impedance will be 1-ohm.
