Way Speakers
In automobiles, what's the difference between 2-way and 4-way speakers?
This is what I think it means so far.
2-way speakers = 2 of the same speakers in the car.
4-way speakers = 4 of the same speakers in the car.
Did I get it right?
different parts of coaxial speakers can handle different frequency ranges
2 way speakers usually have a woofer for low frequencies and a tweeter for high
3 ways have a woofer, tweeter, and a mid range to handle in between freq
4 ways have a combination of either two tweeters or two midrange
so the bass will be sent to the woofer and the treble more to the tweeters
so a two way speaker may be able to handle the same frequencies as the four, but the four will have more distinct, clear highs and lows
you can buy separate component speakers like subs or separate tweeters to emphasize certain frequencies
